The Event Space
The 44 is a modern, full-service event venue featuring a variety of flexible spaces to accommodate events of all sizes. At its heart is Legacy Hall, our largest indoor reception space, which seats up to 400 guests and includes access to a 2,200-square-foot outdoor patio for mingling and gathering.
The venue also offers versatile rooms for small to mid-sized events, a full bar, a catering kitchen, a private mother’s room, and a VIP suite with its own restroom. On-site parking is available for over 140 vehicles.
Legacy Hall is defined by floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light, complemented by modern wood trusses that add architectural elegance. A stunning wooden feature wall serves as a beautiful backdrop, while polished concrete flooring enhances the contemporary design.
For outdoor ceremonies, The Terrace offers permanent seating for up to 315 guests in a beautifully landscaped setting. A serene pond with a fountain provides a picturesque backdrop, while features like a colored and stamped concrete aisle, pergola, and raised platform make it one of the region’s most distinctive outdoor venues.
Signature VIP Suite
Elevate your experience with our Signature VIP Suite designed to offer both comfort and exclusivity. The suite includes a private kitchenette, comfortable seating, and a private restroom. Available as an add-on for any event, it provides a perfect space for relaxation, preparation, or as a VIP haven for your most distinguished guests. Available for an additional fee, it’s the ultimate way to elevate your occasion.
South Colt
Thoughtfully designed as the bridal suite, the South Colt Room provides 550 square feet of bright, inviting space perfect for getting ready on the big day. Lighted mirrors, abundant natural light, and a relaxed atmosphere make it the ultimate retreat for hair and makeup, dressing, and quiet moments with your bridal party. This space comfortably hosts up to 25 guests and can also be opened up to connect with the North Colt Room for a larger shared space accommodating up to 50.
North Colt
The North Colt Room offers 550 square feet of versatile, comfortable space that’s ideal for a variety of event needs. With soft seating, a stylish vanity, and a private atmosphere, it works beautifully as a groom’s lounge, a vendor prep space, or a room for intimate gatherings such as bridal showers or small meetings. Designed for flexibility, the North Colt Room accommodates up to 25 guests on its own or can be opened up and combined with South Colt to host up to 50.
A Modern Approach
The space includes eighteen-foot-tall windows on two walls to provide an abundance of natural light. The windows are insulated with a low-E (emissivity) film that blocks ultraviolet and infrared light from coming in, keeping it cool in the hot summer months, and warm in the cold winter months. The venue is thoughtfully designed to provide an exceptional auditory experience, with sound-absorbing elements that reduce reverberation and ensure clear audio for any event. We also prioritize accessibility, with ADA-compliant features throughout.
The 44 Dream
The 44 began as a dream—a way to honor the mission of the Richland #44 Foundation and continue the scholarships established by Darrel Hendrickson. Mr. Hendrickson was a beloved Colfax resident and farmer whose extraordinary legacy reflects his passion for education and community. Upon his passing, Darrel left an incredible $4.5 million gift to support the Richland #44 School District, a gesture that continues to impact countless lives. This generous donation established the Richland #44 Foundation, providing $10,000 scholarships and other opportunities to graduating seniors since 2019. These scholarships are awarded to students who have been enrolled for at least three of their four high school years. Inspired by Darrel’s lasting generosity, the idea of a vibrant community event and performing arts center was born.
Today, The 44 shines as the region’s newest and most premier event space; it is a place where community comes together to celebrate life’s special moments. Every event helps support the Richland #44 Foundation, continuing Darrel Hendrickson’s legacy of giving.
